1. Toddler Tuesday at Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center: Raccoons
Toddler Tuesday at Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center is a hands-on nature program designed for children ages 1–5 with an accompanying adult. The 90-minute session includes a nature-themed storytime, a simple take-home craft, a movement-based activity, and time to explore the nature center. Programs are held outdoors during warmer months and indoors during colder weather, with special Winter Fun sessions offered seasonally. Admission is $8 per child, while adults and children under age one attend free.
2. Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center Preschool Storytime (registration required) - Hudson (Wednesday) & Hastings (Friday)
Preschool Storytime at Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center provides children ages 2–5 with a playful introduction to nature in a safe, engaging environment. The session features storytime, outdoor exploration, a hands-on craft, and opportunities to meet live animals from the nature center. Programs are held in Hudson on this Wednesday and Hastings this Friday. An adult must accompany each child, and advance registration is required.
3. Frozen Fun - No School Day - Cottage Grove - Friday
Frozen Fun is a free, family-friendly winter event hosted by Cottage Grove Parks & Recreation at Hamlet Park. Families can enjoy a cozy bonfire, outdoor skating, hot chocolate, and a fun gnome scavenger hunt throughout the day. This relaxed event allows families to come and go as they please. Admission is free, however skates are not available on site. Must bring your own.
4. Forts! Build Your Own Adventure at CTC - Minneapolis
Forts! Build Your Own Adventure is an interactive experience at the Children’s Theatre Company that invites kids and families to create their own imaginative spaces using blankets, cardboard boxes, furniture, and more. Set on the Cargill Stage, this hands-on production encourages creativity, collaboration, and play as participants build forts of all shapes and sizes. Starts this Friday, February 13 and runs through April 5, 2026.
