Looking for a positive, low-pressure way to help your kids stay active this spring? The Healthy Kids Running Series (HKRS) Spring Series is a family-favorite youth running program designed to help kids have fun, build confidence, and develop healthy habits—no matter their running experience.
This five-week spring program is open to children Pre-K through 8th grade and meets once a week, making it easy to fit into busy family schedules.
Every week, kids line up with their age group and take part in races designed just for them. Distances vary by age and ability so everyone feels successful:
π 50- and 75-yard dashes for younger runners
π ¼-mile, ½-mile, and 1-mile runs for older kids
π Points earned for every race completed
(Pre-K races are non-competitive and will not include scoring or results)
The focus is always on effort, participation, and fun.
When families register for the Spring Series, they’re signing up for all five weeks of fun. Registration includes:
Weekly race bibs
Official Healthy Kids Running Series runner shirt
Finisher medal awarded during Week 5
Sponsor giveaways when available
Tip: Early Bird pricing increases three weeks before the first race (March 29th, 2026).
Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The Challenger Division is an adaptive 75-yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs:
π Parents, siblings, and friends may accompany runners
π Supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, braces, or crutches are welcome
π Every runner is encouraged and celebrated
Registration opens one hour before each race
Onsite registration at the race location
Covers one race that day
Option to upgrade to the full series if space allows
No refunds or transfers
