Falcon Heights, MN, February 26, 2026  - Ice Castles will reopen following a brief closure due to unseasonably warm temperatures over the Presidents’ Day weekend. As daylight hours grow longer and winter begins to wind down, one of the season’s most beloved attractions prepares for the final days of the season.  Ice Castles will reopen February 26 through March 2, with additional dates dependent on weather conditions. 

Time is running out to experience the winter magic. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets and visit this weekend, as remaining dates are limited and subject to weather conditions.

Ice Castles is an awe-inspiring winter experience featuring caverns, ice slides, frozen thrones, and fountains illuminated at night with 1,000s of LED lights.  Please arrive during your 30-minute booking window, and explore as long as you would like.

Explore ice caverns and get lost in a frozen maze where wonder awaits around every turn.

• Crawl Tunnels

Squeeze through passageways just large enough for children and adults who are adventurous enough to crawl.

• Ice Sculptures

  Tucked away throughout the cascades of ice, discover elaborate, world-class ice sculptures hand-carved by local and international artists.
• The Frozen Tap and Concessions

Bringing joy to others has been our mission since the company’s inception. Founder, Brent Christensen, crafted his first icy creation in the front yard of his home to bring happiness and joy to his children. After moving from sunny California to snowy Utah, Christensen did what any father of six stir-crazy kids with cabin fever would do. He built an ice cave in his yard to get his kids out of the house. His stroke of genius worked!

His icy invention wasn’t just a hit with his own children. Kids from all over the neighborhood – and eventually from all across town — got wind of his creation, bundled up, and headed outside to play at Christensen’s wintry wonderland. The kids affectionately called this winter playground an “ice castle”. And that is exactly what it is today.

Although Ice Castles has grown significantly since then, our mission remains the same – to create happiness, laughter, and unforgettable winter memories.
