“Mom, can we do something fun today?”
If your family is like our family, you may get asked this question also. And, like your family, you may be looking for fun activities to do together to keep the kids occupied. Especially during long breaks when kids seem to get bored so easily. Our family is always looking for fun activities to do together. With the upcoming holiday season, there are a ton of fun activities happening around our community. And, this holiday season, IHOP has a fun new menu, inspired by The Elf on the Shelf, for your family to enjoy together.
Recently youngest son and I had the chance to check out our local IHOP. Because, who doesn’t love “breakfast for dinner?” Pancakes are always a winner at our house! And, for the holiday season, IHOP recently introduced a new menu inspired by The Elf on the Shelf. Like most families, The Elf on The Shelf visits our home every holiday season, so we had to give it a try. This special menu is available now through January 1, and perfect for the holiday season.

IHOP’s The Elf on the Shelf inspired menu, was such a fun treat! My son thought it was neat the menu was inspired by the elves from the North Pole. We enjoyed a cup of Merry Marshmallow hot cocoa together while playing a game, which helped put us in a festive mood.
My son ordered the Little Elves Combo. Jolly Cakes are holiday themed pancakes topped with whipped cream and shimmery elf sprinkles. My son loves anything with sprinkles, so this was a huge hit! And, when at IHOP, you must try their pancakes.
I enjoyed the Holiday Ham & Sausage Omelette. The fluffy omelette is filled with ham, sausage, peppers, and cheese. I’m a huge omelette fan, and this one was definitely yummy. Bring your appetite, because this was definitely a meal in itself.
And, if you are looking for a special treat, they also have the Oh What Funnel Cakes. It’s a funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream. Wow! This was a fun dessert to share together.
We had a great night at IHOP, and it made for a fun outing together. My son and I enjoyed having an opportunity to connect, talk, just hang out with one another, and of course, enjoyed some delicious food. If you are looking for a fun outing with the kids or for a special treat this holiday season or during winter break, we would definitely recommend heading to your local IHOP.
And, in honor of The Elf on the Shelf inspired menu, IHOP is hosting a special Welcome Back Breakfast the weekend of November 29 thru December 1. Kids who dine at IHOP during this weekend, will receive an elf-inspired activity sheet with their meal. If you have an elf that visits you each season, this would make such a fun way to welcome back The Elf on the Shelf to your home!
In addition, now until January 1, 2020, kids 12 and under eat free after 4 pm, with the purchase of an adult meal. This is valid every day from 4 pm-10 pm and includes The Elf on the Shelf menu items. Win win, in my book!
So, what do pancakes and elves have in common? Well, IHOP of course! For us, eating at IHOP was a fun outing and gave us a chance to connect during this busy holiday season, while enjoying yummy pancakes. What could be better? We hope that you check out your local IHOP and make special memories this holiday season too!
Disclosure: Thank you to our local IHOP for hosting us! We were given a gift card to use toward the cost of our meal, in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
